Special Meeting
March 6, 2005
Meeting called to order at 11:07 AM by Russ Lowe, Moderator
This meeting is to vote on becoming an Open and Affirming Church.
Ron Wentworth made the motion:
" As a representative of the Growth, Development and Stewardship committee and speaking on behalf of the Social Action Task Force, with the support of the Trustees of this church, I move that Hadwen Park Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, become an open and affirming congregation publicly welcoming and affirming sexuality, with all of its diversity as a gift of God. In doing that, we validate the welcoming statement that is on our bulletin."
Ballots were passed out, collected and counted by two non-members of the church.
Final Vote: 108 in Favor of ONA 41 Against ONA
Russ Lowe declared that by congregational vote, Hadwen Park Church is now an Open and Affirming Church.
Meeting adjourned at 11:50 AM
